Simple Fruit Danish Pastry

Sometimes, I'd just crave for something sweet but I'd be too lazy to whip up something complex. These Simple Fruit Danish Pastry are easy and pretty effortless! Only took a few simple ingredients and a couple fruit cups from SunMoon!

This only takes about 30 minutes in all to bake and I'd rate it a difficulty level 2 out of 5.

Simple Fruit Danish Pastry Recipe
Yields 6 pastries

1 sheet puff pastry
15 - 20g chocolate buttons (couverture)
1 egg + 1 tsp water
Apricot jam
Fruit cups (about 2 cups)

Method
Thaw the puff pastry

Cut into 6 portions

Fold in half (You may need to trim it to get a nice triangle)

Trim the sides as such

Open up the pastry

Fold (Apply some egg wash to 'glue' the pastry)

Repeat for the other side

Add some chocolate buttons (Nutella will work well too!)

Top with fruits (I drained mine from the fruit cups!)

Apply egg wash on the pastry

Bake according to timing recommended on the packaging of your puff pastry
Apply some apricot glaze (mix with a little hot water if it's too thick) on the fruits

Enjoy!

  2. Hi Cynthia, where did you get the puff pastry from? Available in NTUC/ Cold Storage? Other than Pampas, any other brands you recommend? TIA.

    1. Hi, not all supermarkets carry it. You'll have to try your luck at the various outlets near you. Alternatively, try Phoon Huat. So far I've used pampas and another brand (can't recall which) but I prefer Pampas.

  4. Hello Cynthia, I have tried the pampas that you recommended. But mine turn out not as puffy as yours in the picture. What is your secrets?

    1. hello,

yes you may but the taste of the orange jam will be present.. apricot jam is more neutral so its better for glazing (:
