As much as you see all the stuff that I've cooked and bake here.. I can't cook vegetables. XD Special dishes like Chicken Rice, Wraps, Spag and stuff are okay but not vegetable! So, with some help from a dear friend Josephine, I tried cooking Stir-fry Beansprouts with Carrots and Tau Kwa. Pretty effortless and tasty dish! (: It took me 30 minutes to pluck the roots off the beansprouts (you can choose not to) and 10 minutes to cook this dish.
Stir-fry Beansprouts with Carrots and Tau Kwa Recipe
Ingredients:
1 packet of bean sprouts
2 skinny carrots or 1 large carrot
2 pieces of dried beancurd (Tau Kwa)
2 tbsp water
Some salt
Steps:
The beansprouts!
Dried beancurd and 2 skinny carrots!
Shred the carrots. Rinse the beansprouts and cut 1 piece of dried beancurd into 8 slices.
Add 1 tsp of oil into a preheated happy call pan (medium-high heat). When the oil is hot, add the dried beancurd into the pan and snap the pan close. Every now and then, toss and shake the pan to allow beancurd to brown nicely.
Cook beancurd for about 5 minutes till light brown in colour.
Add the beansprouts.
Add the shredded carrots. Add 2tbsp of water. Add a sprinkle of salt. Snap the pan close and toss the pan to mix the contents. Alternatively, you can use a wooden spoon.
Allow mixture to cook for about 2 minutes before serving. As beansprouts cook real easily, 2 minutes is more than enough to have it cooked (:
YUMMY! (:
